Glowmi

Privacy Policy

This page explains what personal information Glowmi collects, how it's used, and how it's protected. Glowmi is under active development, and this policy describes current, actual platform behavior rather than a fixed, certified compliance program.

Account information

When you create a Glowmi account, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password — Glowmi never stores your password in plain text. We also record whether your email address has been verified.

Professional profile information

If you create a professional profile, some information is public — your display name, bio, portfolio images, services, prices, specialties, average rating, and an approximate location used for search. Other information is private — most importantly your exact studio or service address, which is never shown publicly.

Your exact address is only shared with a customer once a booking with that customer is confirmed, and only for that purpose.

Location information

Glowmi uses a two-tier location model. Your approximate location (enough to support search and distance, never your exact address) is public. Your exact address is private and handled separately in our systems.

To turn an address you enter into map coordinates, Glowmi sends that address text to PDOK Locatieserver, a Dutch government address look-up service.

Bookings and reviews

Booking details (the service, time, and price) are visible to both the customer and the professional involved. Public reviews are tied to a real, completed booking, and only go from customer to professional.

Messaging

Messages are scoped to a real booking relationship between two people, and either person can block the other. Glowmi does not automatically expire or delete message history after a period of time — see "What this policy does not cover" below for how retention works across your account.

A participant can remove an entire conversation from their own account. This hides that conversation from your own Messages list only — it does not delete the conversation, or any message or attachment in it, and it does not change what the other participant sees or has read. If you and that person later become eligible to message again through a new booking, the same conversation automatically reappears in your list — nothing is permanently erased by removing it.

Booking history

A participant can remove an eligible cancelled booking from their own booking history. This hides that booking from your own list only — the underlying booking record is retained, and it remains visible to the other participant and to Glowmi.

Reports and disputes

A report you file is visible only to you and to authorized Glowmi administrators reviewing it — never to the person you reported. If a report or dispute involves a conversation, an authorized administrator can still review the full underlying messages exactly as stored, regardless of whether either participant has removed that conversation from their own personal view.

Payments and subscriptions

Glowmi does not process payment for the beauty or personal-care service itself — that's arranged directly between the customer and the professional, outside Glowmi. Professional subscription billing (Glowmi's own fee for using the platform) is processed by Stripe; Glowmi never sees or stores your full card details.

Other service providers

Glowmi uses a small number of other service providers to operate the platform: an email provider for account and booking notifications, an object storage provider for portfolio and credential files, and PDOK for address look-ups. Glowmi does not share your information with advertisers, analytics networks, or data brokers.

Account deletion

You can delete your own account at any time. Deleting your account removes or replaces your directly identifying information; it does not delete historical bookings, reviews, or messages you were part of, since the other participant has their own legitimate record of that history, and since marketplace and report records need to stay accurate. Those records remain, referencing your account in its anonymized form.

Security

Passwords are stored using secure one-way hashing, never in plain text. Sessions and account actions are protected against common web attacks such as cross-site request forgery.

Your rights

You can review and update your own account information at any time from your account settings, and you can request deletion of your account as described above. Glowmi does not use your personal information to make any automated decision that produces a legal or similarly significant effect on you. If you have a question about your personal information, visit our Contact page.

Cookies

Glowmi uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies — to keep you signed in, to protect your account against cross-site request forgery, and to remember your language preference. Glowmi does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and does not share cookie data with advertisers or analytics networks.

What this policy does not cover

Message, conversation, and cancelled-booking history are resolved: Glowmi does not automatically expire or delete this history, and a participant's own choice to remove a conversation or a cancelled booking from their personal view never deletes the underlying record — see the sections above. For other record types, such as reports and subscription/billing records, Glowmi has not yet defined a fixed retention period, and does not claim certification under any specific privacy law or regulatory framework (such as the GDPR). This is a genuine, current limitation of an early-stage product, not a hidden practice. Glowmi also does not currently offer a self-service data export/download feature.
